Work Experience

The majority of Charles’ current workload is as an Interim Manager/Temporary Executive working in a wide variety of industries including Financial Services, Chemical Industry, Aerospace and Defence. These contracts are usually undertaken during a period of significant change in the business due to takeover, poor performance or a change in the market place.
Charles has also maintained other areas of interest. He remains a shareholder and non-executive director of an electronics company that he co-founded in the early nineteen eighties. The company, Microtima, designs, manufactures and markets a range of electronic traffic management systems, the early hardware and software having been designed by Charles himself
In 1991 Charles qualified and registered as an assessor of quality systems. He began trading as Charles T. Associates, a company listed under the DTI Quality Enterprise Initiative. Charles has undertaken many quality consultancy projects, helping companies to gain ISO9000 certification and to install TQM systems.
More recently Charles has been involved on a consultancy basis with a multinational manufacturing company. This contract has been based around reengineering the group engineering department which is responsible for major capital spend within the group. This project has resulted in the implementation of best operating practice across the group which now includes over 100 manufacturing sites..
