Professional experience

For the clients of Accenture:
- Lead, in the encompassing Coperfin reengineering project, a large (40+) team of client executives, as well as Accenture, PwC and KPMG consultants, to define a consolidated target ICT architecture for the Belgian Ministry of Finance (30,000+ employees) that is aligned with the requirements of the 9 major business units and their e-Government strategy.
- Designed, in close cooperation with board members and the cabinet, a detailed 2002-2010 migration plan for the implementation of the Coperfin change programs and a multi-million euro business case .
- Lead the reengineering of structure, processes and functions of the different IT departments of the Ministry of Finance and designed a mainly centralized IT organization with 1,150 staff that aims at realigning the IT services with a taxpayer-centric business organization.
- Built the strategy, architecture and implementation plans for the Belgian Customs and Excise administration that will allow them to migrate their current paper-based processing to an integrated e-Government solution (“Paperless Customs”) in order to enhance their services dramatically and to lower their operational costs.
- Prepared the strategic objectives and guiding principles for the IT department of SELOR (Recruitment agency of the Ministry of Personnel & Organisation)
- Headed multi-company bid teams in leveraging assets, creating solutions, presenting offers and closing deals.
- Sold Accenture services to key accounts in Government

For the clients of PriceWaterhouseCoopers MCS:
- Organized and managed the consolidation and relocation of GlaxoWellcome’s data centre and the relocation of their employees to a new head office
- Managed the Y2k rollover programs at GlaxoWellcome Belgium
- Lead the migration from IMS Health to Siebel Pharma for GlaxoWellcome’s BeLux sales force (coordinating the deployment of the back-office systems and data migration, roll-out and training activities for 300+ users).
- Defined in a Request for Tender the operational and service level requirements for the heterogeneous IT environment of GlaxoWellcome, based on a framework of ITIL processes.
Participated in vendor negotiations to evaluate and select the delivery of outsourcing services.
- Supervised the operational and project activities of client teams, consultants and outsourcing partners at GlaxoWellcome Belgium.
- Lead the integration of the GlaxoWellcome and SmithKlineBeecham IT organisations (within a time span of 6 months).
- Defined the strategic direction, architecture and migration plans for the CRM, ERP and clinical research applications during the merger of GlaxoWellcome and SmithklineBeecham in Belgium.
- Lead the EURO migration projects at GlaxoSmithKline2.
- Service Manager for the GB-Ready project, responsible for all interfacing (CR’s, release planning, service reporting, bonus/penalty tracking) with the parties involved (development teams, operations, ASP, GIB-group, business users, etc.) in order to ensure an integrated and assured service delivery

For ING Insurance:
- Initiated, developed and lead, with an average annual growth rate of 125%, an IT Support Organisation (Call Centre, Technical and Functional Team, Finance Cell) for delivering added-value IT services and solutions to more than 500 independent insurance brokers nationwide.
- Technical project manager, responsible for the development, deployment and roll-out of a C/S banking platform for the agents of the Alcredima Savings Bank (a subsidiary of ING Insurance).
- Supported the development teams in developing mainframe and C/S applications with an iCASE environment (COOL:GEN)
- Lead 2 e-mail transition projects (migration from Verimation MEMO to Lotus cc:Mail, migrating cc:Mail to Lotus Notes).
- Consolidated various isolated and heterogeneous server environments to a cost-effective corporate LAN for 1,100 users in several locations. Implemented and administered COE-environments, based on OS/2 Warp and OS/2 LAN Server.
- Introduced and administered an RS/6000 environment for the back-office of the ING Savings Bank.
- Initiated and managed large scale migration projects to address project and business needs (OS/2 to Windows migration, introduction of MQSeries, migration from Token Ring technology to a switched ATM and Ethernet environment, etc.)
- Project manager, responsible for the construction of a mainframe data centre in the new head office of ING Insurance and the cabling infrastructure for 1,000 employees. Managed the relocation of the complex IT environment and the phased relocation of all employees.
- Leading Technical Architect for ING Insurance, responsible to set and agree on target architectural requirements for all new IT projects
- Participated in defining an innovative e-business blueprint for the integration of ING Insurance and an ING Savings Bank with their independent brokers and agents.
- As a member of the IT Management team, lead several IT teams in delivering quality results, both in the operational environments, as well as in their project activities.
