Work Experience

In the period June 2000 - December 2000 responsible for the integration of 8 (independent) working companies into 1 professional consulting services organisation. Improvements included increased efficiencies and quality of services. Longer term contracts added values in the area of continuity.

In the period November 1998 – May 2000 interim director of a subsidiary of a major Dutch Utility Cy, this business unit was providing Systems Management services and IT support to all business units. Beside the unit had several external customers in the health care and public sector.
Responsibilities included: revenues 65 mfl, IT Staff of 150 on average and as special assignment the successful Y2K project.
Strategic attention was given to the definition of a outsourcing of the unit to a big Dutch IT Service provider, which was completed in May 2000. This included negation responsibilities the IT Service provider that was nominated.

In the period June 1998 – October 1998 BaaN Program Manager Responsibility included implementation of BAAN in 3 working companies. Integrated Quality Management for processes supporting the new environment.

In the period 1993 – may 1998 as account director of a major international IT services provider responsible for business development and operations of several accounts in the public sector in Holland. Customers include The Dutch Ministry of Environment (VROM-DGM and VROM-DGVH); The Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (V&W); The Dutch Ministry of Home Affairs (BiZa-BVD), The Dutch Ministry of Justice (CRI and KLPD/ITO) and Europol. Services provided: Consultancy, Systems Integration and (on-site) System Management. Projects included Innovation in areas such as DIS, WFM and communications (Inter/Intranet), change management using Business Process mapping and (Re)Engineering, as well as operational support of IT-centers.
In 1996 responsible for the successful close of the Euro tenders for a 6-yr systems management outsourcing contract with the Bouwdienst of RWS and the responsibility for the service delivery of a 3-yr maintenance and systems management contract; i.e. the FAIS outsourcing contract for FEZ of the Ministry of V&W.

In the 1996 and 1997 responsibilities included: revenue >18mfl, people (avg.) 90, growth > 15%, implement ISO certified QMS and security certification for Bouwdienst and FAIS.

In the period 1992 - 1993 as Business Support Manager responsible for the definition of Marketing and Business plans that support Sales managers in the area of strategic directions, introduction of Facilities Management and 'Outsourcing', prospecting and proposal efforts to 'large accounts'.
Market segment concentrated on (Euro) Government, Public Sector and Utilities business. Special missions included the contract negotiations with an Euro-Telco (Belgacom) to provide administrative services for their wire-line and wire-less business, including registration and data collections. As Consultant valuable experience in the execution of Business Information Planning (BIP), Organizational Impact analysis and Change management for large customers (insurance, banking and government) in France, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, South Korea and Holland.

In the period 1990 - 1992 as Account Manager responsible for the development and implementation of a Dealer Communications System (DCS) for over 2500 GM (i.e. Opel) car dealers in 12 Euro-countries. Dealers were 'interconnected' via private X.25 networks and used common Systems with 'local language' parameters. Since accurate and reliable information was (directly) available customers could obtain higher quality of service in terms of query and ordering.

During 1990 worked in Barcelona as Marketing Support Consultant for the completion of the negations with a local Bank (La Caixa)to install and provide EDI services to the Bank's large customers.

In the period 1988-1989 fulfilled a special mission for EDS in Paris (transition of SPI), which included the installation and management of the (initial) Marketing Support departments. Activities included; introducing proposal efforts and procedures; establishing the required infrastructure and communication features. Responsible for proposal efforts to 'large accounts’ regarding facilities management and 'Outsourcing'.

In the period 1983 - 1988 as Project Manager responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated application for a large Dutch Insurance Company.

As EDP manager responsible for the day-to-day operational and production activities of a midsize IT department.
Accomplishments included:

· Implementation of an effective communications vehicle for information exchange between the local offices and the Brussels HQ;
· Introduction of Information Management as part of the company's business process;
· Definition of a long-term information plan and the start of associated projects.
· Integration of 'underwriting' and 'claims' departments with the use of IT.

Involved by the implementation of a 'real-time' operational system for container-movement and management in the Rotterdam harbor (this project was the start of the current INTIS environment). Functionality included: order-entry, planning, registration of document flow.
