November 2002 – Present: Management Development Manager, Finance
Reporting to the Finance Director, manage the design, development, delivery and evaluation of Finance programmes to Heads of Functions and Executive Board members.

Planning – Project Managed the design and implementation of a modular Finance programme to deliver training on Budget, Purchase Order and Performance Management.

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the purpose of this role was to develop sales and profitability by developing the potential and capability of 21 telesales staff.

Personal Development – Designed and introduced sales induction programme and a modular based Commercial development training programme for 40 Commercial staff.

Management Development – Designed and implemented Sales Leadership programme, Career and Succession Planning and Career Management scheme for high performers.

Leadership – Increased staff morale by introducing motivational questionnaire, reducing staff turnover from 20% to 12% in 2002.

Performance Management – Developed, implemented and monitored performance management process that delivered sales growth from £28mil in 2001 to £35mil in 2002.

CAREER HISTORY - London Electricity, July 1975 – March 2000

October 1997 - March 2000: Learning and Management Development Manager
Responsible for the delivery and management of all personal, management and graduate development across the LE Group.

Management of resources - Accredited, appointed and managed external training suppliers and resources following tendering process. Managing/evaluating training activities delivered by internal training team of 15 staff and external resources. Managed £2m training budget.

Cultural Change & Development - Designed, introduced and managed Performance Management system (rolled out to 3500 staff), Induction Programme, Coaching skills development, Princes Trust Volunteer Scheme and E Learning.

Graduate & Management Recruitment – Managed apprentice, graduate and business manager recruitment (incl. managing and running assessment centres, psychometric testing) and designed and managed relevant personal, graduate and management induction programmes and operational management development programmes.

An external consultative role assigned to a number of companies to deliver a range of personal development programmes, managing two training centres in London and the North East.

Call Centre Development – Generated £100,000 of revenue through the delivery of call centre training to UniqueAir Telecommunications, Honda Motors, London Total Gas and The Law Society.

Recognised EU Call Centre Programme – Secured a £4million bid to design, develop, introduce and manage a five year Call Centre/Customer Service training programme for Sunderland City Council. The aim of the programme is to up-skill out of work/returnees to work people with the skill requirement of the call centre environment for a number of organisations.

Project Management – Project managed and implemented a training and recruitment strategy for the relocation of LE’s Retail & Customer Services operation from London to Sunderland.
