Responsible for devising and managing the implementation of a £500K lean cost reduction program.

Responsible for relocation of manufacturing to Romania. This involved research and site selection, planning flow line production, supervision and operator selection and training, refurbishment of a 10,000 sq m factory and starting up production. The total investment was £8m and included introducing new processes, purchasing and transferring equipment and developing supply chain relationships.




2004 (1 year) Operations Director, Hi-Lo Storage Systems Ltd.,
Responsible for establishing a viable business as a basis for expansion into a broader based warehouse systems provider. This was successful and the business then grew through acquisition from £8m to £25m.

Education

Brian completed an Engineering/Undergraduate Apprenticeship with Rolls Royce, he then qualified with a BSc honours degree in Production Engineering from Aston University, Birmingham and also an MSc in Welding Technology and Management also from Aston. He is a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.

He has kept up to date by engaging in vocational training and over recent years has attended courses in Kaizen Implementation, Project Management and Environmental Control. Previous courses included Process Modelling, Manufacturing Logistics, Strategic Planning and Business Re-Engineering, Change Management and other subjects such as ISO9000 and TQM.
