Main achievements: Built up an extensive portfolio of clients, large and small. Assignments have included Corporate & Business Analysis, BPR and organisational improvement, Strategic & Operational Marketing, Project Management, Benchmarking, strategic development, competitor analysis etc. I have just completed an interesting six-month project with Fidelity Investments where I worked as a Corporate Financial Analyst. I have also carried out other long-term assignments for blue-chip financial services clients.

I have also been successful in introducing a variety of qualitative improvements in product and service performance at a strategic and operational level. These were recognised tangibly in the form of performance bonuses and enhanced remuneration. In addition, I have spoken widely on a range of subjects including “Knowledge Management” at different Conferences in the UK, Ireland and Singapore. I have had a number of articles published in professional journals in the UK, Canada & New Zealand.

I have carried out a number of interesting marketing assignments and organised many conferences, seminars and other events on behalf of my clients. As part of this, I have produced a wide range of high quality marketing material, examples of which are included in my portfolio. From a strategic perspective, I have produced a range of business & marketing plans, all of which have been very well received.

Responsible for the corporate compliance for the AA Group, which covered all statutory and regulatory issues and boardroom practice. Managed a large team of 18, which also included Group Member Relations, Executive Catering and the Directorate Suite. Key role in leading corporate restructuring projects.

Main achievements:
· Lead role in the development and implementation of an effective office automation strategy.
· Key role in various corporate restructuring programmes, notably the rewriting of the AA's constitution in 1994. (This was approved by the members at an SGM and enabled the AA to diversify into new markets)
· Significant role in improving Group-wide compliance e.g. introduced regular legal audits.
· Developed a highly successful salary club on non-executive directors pay and benefits, this was supported by 66% of the FTSE

Earlier Career

From 1976 to 1985 I held several administative posts rising to Junior Management Level. On achieving my professional qualifications, followed by admission as an Associate Member of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in March 1985 my career took off which led to a number of promotions and achievements. After 18 months with Currys Limited as a Trainee Manager, I joined Southern Electric in June 1978 where I stayed until March 1984 rising to Supervisor. At that juncture, I joined Bournemouth Borough Council in a similar capacity but once I had passed my ICSA examinations my career was best suited in a more dynamic environment.

Personal Information

I am 43 years old, married with two daughters aged 20 and 22. I enjoy excellent health and am a very active person and I enjoy playing football and most racquet sports, e.g. table tennis, tennis and squash to a good club standard. I also belong to my local fitness club and enjoy skiing. I also worked for the Rapid Results College as a part-time tutor from 1991 to 1997, teaching Economics, Marketing and Company Secretarial Practice.
