MBB Defense Division, Ottobrunn, Germany
Developed and planned the tactics and strategies for the negotiations of a joint venture with Mitsubishi Electric, Japan, to build and operate (in Germany) a semiconductor fab (1983-1984); was charged with the program implementation, leader of delegation; result of project exactly according to predictions.
Planned and executed, for MBB, a project to acquire digital / analogue circuit design technology from US companies; engineered and led the screening and the acquisition processes, resulting in the competitive bidding of seven semiconductor companies for the contract with offerings ranging from US$ 2.2 to 11.5 million; the contracts finally awarded to two bidders totalled US$ 4.5 million (1984-1985); planned and supervised the technology transfer process; cleared the project with US Government authorities; trained key personnel in interacting successfully with the US partner firms (1985-1987).

[The resulting operation grew into what was valued to be one half of TEMIC at the merger of the MBB Micro-electronics division with then Telefunken Semiconductor].

Designed and implemented a change program directed at boosting the entrepreneurial behaviour of managers designated to become profit center leaders; project required hands-on business development; cost savings in one project ca. DM 70 million within a year; another PC reported cost-savings of 30% in the first year of more than DM 100 million (1993)
Supported ongoing change programs in two of the PCs showing the greatest propensity towards change; coached the PC-leaders (1994).
