CAREER HISTORY

June 2000 – present Netigy Corporation

Netigy provides E-business infrastructure consulting and professional services to the world’s leading financial institutions, service providers and enterprise businesses which enables them to make a successful transition to network based e-business models. The core service offerings are infrastructure architecture, performance, application profiling and security. The company’s venture capital funding is from Cisco Systems, Dell Ventures, EDS and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Recruitment Manager UK and Europe

Netigy was in complete start-up mode when I joined and the initial challenge was to set up the entire recruitment process, which included vendor selection and setting up of contractual agreements. Responsible for driving the entire recruitment life cycle, from initial manpower planning, production of headcount targets and development of the skills matrix. The process then included candidate identification, the interview process, offer stage and orientation programme of successful applicants.
From a commercial standpoint, cost per hire was of particular importance, and the introduction of web based recruitment methodologies and an internal referral programme kept costs in line with the budget.
Instigated and managed the associate consultant programme for utilisation of external short-term contract resource.

From recruitment perspective, the organisation grew ahead of target, allowing the company to move from start-up status to an operating, revenue generating business with over 70 members of staff within six months.

Pro

July 1999 – June 2000 Motorola

Senior Sourcing Specialist Global Talent Supply (one year fixed-term contract)

Initial duties within GTS were to design and deliver business processes to allow the introduction of a new recruitment model into the EMEA region. On the operational side, I was responsible for vendor assessment and negotiation of terms and conditions for contingency and search activity. Project managed all of the advertising and executive search work for the build-up of a new joint venture company between Cisco and Motorola called Invisix..

Was responsible for recruitment across several of Motorola’s core business units; both technical and commercial and, more recently, have been given the remit to recruit for the build of a technical 3G team concentrating on UMTS, GPRS and GSM.

My group set up and ran the world’s first virtual recruitment event, totally internet driven, this being initially for the UK. Following the success of this project, I have since run a European and global event in joint venture with our internet partners Acumen Web.

The role as Senior Sourcing Specialist has enabled me to use my experience in setting up strategic recruitment projects with members of the team with multiple needs or particularly difficult skill sets to source.

January 1992 – June 1999 PSD Group plc

From 1998 - Principal Consultant Electronic Commerce Division

In 1998 a new division was formed within the PSD group to develop the emerging marketplace within electronic commerce. My teams brief was to win new business within the telecommunications and IT systems area. Reporting directly to the Divisional Director, I was tasked with providing the strategy, direction and leadership required to penetrate the new area. This allowed the consultants on the team to create client bases, which produced the revenue, volume and profit targets expected by the company.
Successfully developed business from a cold client base with companies such as Cap Gemini, Logica, Semagroup, ICL, CMG, IBM, Bull Information Systems and several others. Built strong relationships within these companies and have ensured the efficient and profitable operation of this new venture. Enabled the PSD Group to become preferred suppliers for Cap Gemini and Logica.

1995 – 1998 Senior Consultant

The majority of the work was in transportation and telecommunications; this was split into three specific geographical areas: The Far East, North America and UK. A large part of 97-98 was taken up with a retained campaign that I secured from a major American contractor to recruit 40 specialists for a multi million-dollar project in Korea. The campaign included advertising in the UK, France, USA, Hong Kong as well as a full international executive search. It was extremely successful with over 120 candidates generated, interviewed and accepted by the client.
Other major assignment wins were the Adtranz group for 8 international business directors to be based in several worldwide locations and many other senior level appointments for UK and Far Eastern clients. Consistently over exceeded targets and was twice invited to a weekend at the Ritz Hotel in London with my wife as part of the 200% club incentive scheme.
One of the reasons for changing to the new Electronic Commerce Division during 98 was because of the collapse of the Far Eastern economies, which affected 60% of my client base.

1992 – 1995 Consultant

Developing business within the consulting engineering market place focusing on transportation systems which started with safety critical railway signalling and communication systems. Initially in the UK market but quickly won retained assignments and contingency work in the Far East including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan as well as Australia, USA and Canada. Consistently hit target, which enabled me to be promoted to Senior Consultant.
