1998 Human Resources Director
Implementation of International Human Resources policy, reporting to Senior VP Organisational Development. Primarily task: to transfer the company into a multi-national company, by means of more participation of local personnel while reducing number of expatriates, starting of international management development programs, initiating training and competency models, local labor conditions and procedures.

1996 Human Resources Director
As member of Management Team of Eastern Hemisphere division responsible for HR policy, IT and Office Management, integration:
Human Resources:
From the Rotterdam divisional HO and Aberdeen as administration center, covering 2.200 employees in 4 areas. Employees came from The Netherlands, UK, West Africa, Southern Europe and Brasil.
Information Technology:
Responsible for Information policy with the objective to introduce current level of technology and achieve full connection with Houston IT environment. Introduction of SAP.
Office Management
Maintenance, furnishing and rental of offices and yards.
Integration of staff within the organization and introduction/implementation of systems, procedures and policies.

1990 Division Neddrill, Manager Personnel & Organization
Management Team Member of Neddrill division. Responsible for introduction of taxes and social premium deduction for offshore employees, without increasing the overall personnel cost.
Other tasks:
• General HR policy, recruiting and selection, training, management development etc.
• Execution of policy has been from foreign offices in Belgium, UK (500 employees) and Hong Kong (100 employees)
• Negotiated with fiscal advisors, unions, labor inspections (labor- and income tax inspection, ARBO laws, The Labor Law North Sea)
• Culture change management, from a pioneer to business unit organization
• Neddrill offered employment to some 1.000 employees, also through sub-contractors, from the Netherlands, UK, Portugal, Brasil, Indonesia etc.

1986 Nedlloyd Group, Innovation Manager
The innovation policy has been developed by an innovation team under leadership of a Member of the Executive Board. The task has been to transfer the innovation knowledge to the operating companies and by setting up innovation teams and programs.
Innovation covered the broadest way from product innovation, product-market combinations to innovation of organization.
Projects were executed in cooperation with Philips, HBG, Logica, RDM and de Schelde yard and included an affordable Betuwe train line, chip cards for pallets, drilling wells for garbage-dump burning.

1985 Project Manager, Delft Geophysical
Delft Geophysical, a joint venture between Nedlloyd, TNO and Oranje Nassau, is a geophysical research company and doing seismographic work for third parties.
DG introduced the function of Party Chief, who supervised from University educated staff, HTS schooling to laborers as cable pullers, as part of the production force. Seismographic research is contract work paid per mile.
Did an economic liability study of seismographic work in shallow and coastal waters. Negotiated with shipping yards and Shipping Inspection to convert a number of Navy Mine Sweepers.
Supervised the docking and rebuilding of such a mine sweeper for inland waters and one for the North Sea and Middle East.

1982 Division Specialized Transport
As expatriate worked for KTS Damman, Saudi Arabia in the function of Technical Manager. Primarily task to investigate overall cost and cost places. KTS is a joint venture between Nedlloyd and Kanoo and operated two container terminals and a transport company.
To provide better services to our customers introduced a container repair service. Negotiated with shipping lines such as P&O, APL, OCL and UASC for long term contracts for container storage, repair and logistics) and in particular with APL and Sealand for refrigerator container repairs.

1968 Started as apprentice engineer with Royal Interocean Lines in Hong Kong,Working through the ranks up the second engineer. Royal Intercean became later part of Nedlloyd Group.
Did some projects as integration coordinator on very large role-on role-off ships (integration between deck and engine room departments).
