Work Experience

More than 20 years experience in the contract logistics services industry as Business Developement Director in the BNL working for leading Logistics Services Providers such as Hays plc (now K&N) and Christian Salvesen plc. Currently Managing Director/consultant.

Strong track record in business development of logistics services and in the development and implementation of collaborative logistics networks (as well vertical supply chain integration as horizontal supply chain consolidation projects) between leading retailers and manufacturers.

Profound experience with large (logistics)outsourcing projects

My expertise is based on the development and successful implementation of several vertical and horizontal supply chain collaboration and integration projects between leading retailers such as Carrefour and Delhaize in Belgium and Ahold in the Netherlands and several of their largest suppliers and between several leading FMCGs manufacturers.

I use the theoretical concepts and handbooks developed by leading knowledge institutes such as TNO and the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands and benefit from a large network and extensive contacts with organisations such as ECR Europe, GS1, Transumo and Bestlog and with the national and European authorities.

With my extensive knowledge and large experience of complex collaborative projects I can help as well retailers, manufactures as logistics service providers to develop successful logistics networks.

For logistics service providers I develop business development strategies that focus on a proactive approach of a selected group of shippers with high potential synergies. Service providers can benefit a lot and realise strong growth by adopting our integration and consolidation approach in terms of target group selection, intelligent pricing strategies and the most optimal sequence in which offers are made to shippers.

Supply chain integration and consolidation projects result in (road) freight transport reductions but companies can do more to shift freight from the road by the development and implementation of (collaborative) viable modal shift actions. I assist companies to develop and realise traffic avoidance actions and modal shift actions and if eligible for financial support by the European Commission I prepare, submit and defend application proposals.
