Amplification: Chronological functions within SCA Company:

As the Head of Procurement I was responsible for the purchase strategy and purchase execution of capital goods and raw materials.
This independand entreprise(Edet Nederland BV.) produced tissue paper for the Consumer Market als well as for the Institutional Markets. Turnover about 40 Million Euros.
I established the first international distribution netwerk from The Netherlands to the German Institutional Market.

The merger between Edet Nederland and Molnlyckein 1988 by Molnlycke b.v., daughter of SCA.

As a member of the management team in the function of
Material Manager I have contributed to the successful integration of Edet Nederland b.v. in the international organisation. The implementation of IT systems (SOP) for the logistic processes led to a further professional maturity of the business organisation.Stock-management, quick response as well as fast change-over in the production-organisation led to enormous logistic cost savings and improved the service level to the customers in a significant way.
The function of Material Manager covered the departments of Production Planning, Supply Service, Transport Planning and Distribution, Warehousing and Purchase (raw materials and capital goods). I reported to the Factory Director.

During this period an intensive total quality programme was implemented in the whole organisation.
Also in this period I integrated several external ware- houses in the organisation to optimise the regional Benelux distribution in Tilburg.(5 warehouses).

In 1995 Papier Werke Aschaffenburg was integrated into SCA Hygiene Products. This merger brought SCA Hygiene Products under German management. The European production was re-integrated (”Netwerkproject”)and had to lead to a new European production- and logistic structure.

During my time as Distribution Director I also adviced the central board as a member of the international project-team (Mc Kinsey) . This resulted in a structure for the European production allocation.

I also integrated the logistic function of the distribution centre in the region by further concentrating on different market organisations.
This led to an ‘off balance’ new construction project of 36.00 M2 with an organisation of 76 employees and “inbound logistic services” with external suppliers.

The total quality change process ,combined with improvement teams change results and work culture in an significant way ( certification iso 9002).

The implementation of an “Activity Based Cost” system, and the operationalisation of a “Warehouse Management System” led to an inproved professional maturity of the organisation.

The multitude of acquisitions of SCA necessitated again a restructuring of the European distribution network necessary (250 Million Euros in logistic costs).

By July 1999 I was promoted to the European function of Manager Logistic Projects Europe, based in Mannheim (Germany). In this function I was assigned to reduce the 70 European warehouses to 27 and to outsource the remaining warehouses to logistic service providers on a cost neutral base.
In the same priode the organisation had to be reset for Europien wide implementation of SAP/R3 .
By September 2001 I was nominated for the function of Manager Business Logistics for Region South, based in Paris (France).
