INTERIM MANAGEMENT: 3 years experience as an Interim Manager Human Resources in various branches and companies, such as: Joop van den Ende Productions, CSU Schoonmaakbedrijf, Compass Catering, Krasnapolsky BV etc.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
HR Management is my initial profession. I graduated from the Social Acad-emy of Rotterdam in 1983 with a Major in Human Resources Management. During my studies as well as after graduation I was employed in various HR positions in a very diverse spectrum of companies:

• Hotels (Sonesta Corp, ACCOR, Bilderberg, Krasnapolsky, Golden Tulip)

The highest positions in HR Management were the Corporate positions of
Director of Human Resources for Krasnapolsky /Golden Tulip Hotels (65 hotels in Europe) and for Bilderberg Hotels & Resorts (30 hotels in Holland and Belgium).

My experience in HR Management includes all aspects of HR Management and the management of Quality of Services, which is strongly related to HR Management.

During the employment with Qatar Airways, I was in charge of Human
Resources for the 5 subsidiaries (work companies) belonging to the Qatar Airways Group of companies: Qatar Aviation Services, Doha International
Airport, Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, Qatar Airways Duty Free and Qatar Distribution Center (in total 5.500 employees).
I reported to the General Manager HR for Qatar Airways Group. The focus in that role was on advising and assisting the General Managers and Personnel Managers of the Subsidiaries in the HR policies & procedures, overall
implementation of policies, proposing changes in organizational structure and implementation of this change, improvement of the use of employees (effi-ciency exercises), recruitment etc.

As Head of the Corporate Recruitment Department I was leading a team of 25 Recruiters and Admin. Staff; this team is responsible for filling approx. 2000 vacancies per budget year. These vacancies are on any level and include pilots, engineers etc. but exclude Cabin Crew.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
As Program Director, I opened and managed two Global Campus Sites, one in Lebanon (Beka’a Valley) and one in Doha, the capitol of The State of Qatar.
I directed operations of these Universities and established the hotel
management schools as affiliates of an international Hotel Management School. The scope of the role included project management, budgeting, planning, recruitment of teachers and staff, marketing activities,
communicating with the local business partner and reporting to the Head Office in The Netherlands as well as to the local Joint Venture Partner.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
In my position as Program Director for CHN University of Professional
Education in the State of Qatar, I was also in charge of preparing the financial budget for this newly created business: a Joint Venture of CHN University and the Al-Faisal Group. Regular financial reporting on performance against budget, reviewing progress on cost saving and revenue generating activities, were key responsibilities.

Under my leadership CHN University tripled the number of budgeted students in the second year of operation (year 2002). A positive financial result was achieved 2 years earlier than planned. In August 2004 CHN University Doha Campus had a total of 320 students, an annual income of about US$ 2
million US dollars and a return of 20% EBIT.

MARKETING MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
In my last position as Program Director for the Hotel Management Schools in Lebanon and in Qatar, I also directed Marketing Planning and Implementa-tion. Specifically, this related to staff recruitment and student enrollment ac-tivities, in addition to promoting student fairs and exhibitions, etc.

ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCE
For a period of 3 years I have managed my own business “HRNetwork”.
This company was engaged in a range of HR related activities, including re-cruitment, interim management and temporary labor, in addition to adminis-tering Quality Management for hotel chains. The company has been sold in 1998.
